A Comprehensive Approach to Psychological Assessment, Therapy, and Educational Support
Medicolegal Assessment
A medico legal assessment is a specialised psychological evaluation conducted to address questions arising within a legal context. Educational psychologists are often instructed by attorneys, the courts, or other authorised parties to provide an independent, evidence based opinion regarding an individual’s educational, cognitive, and psychological functioning following an injury or other legally relevant event.
Medico Legal Assessments may be conducted in matters involving:
- Road traffic accident claims.
- Medical negligence claims.
- Child and family law matters where psychological or educational opinions are required.
- Other civil litigation requiring expert psychological evidence
A detailed medico legal report is prepared following the assessment and is intended to assist the instructing party in understanding the psychological and educational implications relevant to the case.
When is a Psychoeducational Assessment Recommended?
- Learning difficulties in reading, writing, spelling, or mathematics.
- Behavioral or Emotional Distress: Frequent meltdowns over homework, high anxiety, or school refusal.
- Poor or declining academic performance, including grade repetition or persistent academic struggles
- Difficulties with attention, concentration, organisation, or task completion.
